I want to know more about you: How your past informs your present, your relational history, and the defenses and avoidances you use to fend off pain, loss, and anxiety. Years ago, you developed ways of finding warmth, love, and security- these live on, below the surface. At your age, many of them no longer work; you're not living the life you want. Lasting change comes from deep insights about who you are, what you've missed and lost, and how you've defended yourself from what you fear most. I approach therapy with an eye for depth: I want to learn about your world and develop a relationship with you through which we can loosen the ties that hold you down.
